Design Post wird 2026 offizieller Bestandteil von ORGATEC und idd cologne
Koelnmesse und Design Post Köln bauen ihre Partnerschaft zur Interior-Woche weiter aus
Die Design Post Köln übernimmt 2026 erstmals eine Doppelrolle und wird sowohl in die ORGATEC als auch in die idd cologne eingebunden. Als zusätzlicher Ausstellungsstandort ergänzt sie das Angebot der ORGATEC, während sie für die parallel stattfindende idd cologne das Herzstück des urban-only-Konzepts bildet. Damit verbindet die denkmalgeschützte Design-Location moderne Arbeitswelten, Contract Solutions und Residential Interior Design an einem Ort und schafft einen gemeinsamen Anlaufpunkt für Fach- und Privatbesuchende. Die ORGATEC findet vom 27. bis 30. Oktober 2026 statt; die idd cologne vom 27. bis 31. Oktober 2026.Nach der erfolgreichen Einbindung der Design Post Köln zur Premiere der idd cologne 2025 wird die Zusammenarbeit in diesem Jahr deutlich erweitert. Im Rahmen der ORGATEC und der interior design days cologne präsentieren sich in der Design Post internationale Premium-Marken, ergänzt durch Ausstellungen, Events und Networking-Formate.
„Die Design Post übernimmt innerhalb der Interior-Woche bewusst unterschiedliche Rollen: Sie erweitert die ORGATEC um zusätzliche internationale Marken und neue Networking-Möglichkeiten, während sie als zentraler Ausgangspunkt des urban-only-Konzepts der idd cologne die verschiedenen Designorte der Stadt miteinander verknüpft. So profitieren die Besuchenden von einem noch vielfältigeren Interior-Erlebnis mit kurzen Wegen, zusätzlicher Inspiration und neuen Kontakten“, so Maik Fischer, Director der ORGATEC.
Zusätzlicher Ausstellungsstandort der ORGATEC
Mit der Design Post gewinnt die ORGATEC als internationale Leitmesse für Workspace und Contract Solutions einen weiteren Ausstellungsstandort in unmittelbarer Nähe des Messegeländes. So wächst das Messeerlebnis über die Hallen hinaus und eröffnet für die Fachbesuchenden einen zusätzlichen Begegnungsraum für Design, Dialog und neue Impulse.
Zentrale Location des urban-only-Konzepts der idd cologne
Die Design Post bildet 2026 das Herzstück der idd cologne. Von hier aus erkunden Privat- und Fachbesuchende das urbane Branchenevent rund um exklusives Residential Interior Design. Gemeinsam mit dem machwerkhaus köln, der Design Season Cologne sowie unabhängigen Showrooms und Stores im Kölner Stadtgebiet prägt sie das dezentrale Interior-Design-Erlebnis in der Stadt. Die nun umfassendere Einbindung knüpft an die erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit im Jahr 2025 an und stärkt die Rolle der Design Post innerhalb des Gesamtkonzepts.
Internationale Markenvielfalt an einem Ort
In der Design Post präsentieren sich während der Interior-Woche führende internationale Interior-Design-Marken für Wohn-, Arbeits- und Objektwelten, darunter im Rahmen der idd cologne Arco, Arper, DEDON, ECHTSTAHL, Ferm Living, Gärsnäs, GLOSTER, HOWE, Lodes, mdf italia, Misura Rugs, Mizetto, mobitec, Prostoria, RIVA, Secto Design und Tubes. Auch im Kontext der ORGATEC präsentieren sich in der Design Post namhafte Marken, darunter Flokk, Hund Office, Klöber, Schneeweiss Interior und Wagner Living. Gezeigt werden Produktneuheiten, aktuelle Einrichtungstrends und hochwertige Designlösungen. Ergänzt wird das vielseitige Angebot durch unterschiedliche Event- und Networking-Formate, die zusätzliche Inspiration bieten und den persönlichen Austausch innerhalb der internationalen Interior-Design-Community fördern.
Koelnmesse übernimmt Design Post zum 1. Januar 2027
Die Integration der Design Post in ORGATEC und idd cologne markiert den nächsten Meilenstein in der seit Juli 2025 bestehenden Kooperation zwischen Koelnmesse und Design Post Köln. Zum 1. Januar 2027 wird die Koelnmesse den Betrieb der Design Post übernehmen und die denkmalgeschützte Location dauerhaft in ihre Messe- und Eventarchitektur integrieren. Vermarktung und Betrieb verantwortet künftig die Tochtergesellschaft Koelncongress. Im Rahmen der diesjährigen Interior-Woche zeigt die Partnerschaft bereits, wie die Design Post das Angebot zweier internationaler Interior-Design-Veranstaltungen auf unterschiedliche Weise bereichern kann.
Der Besuch der Design Post im Rahmen der beiden Veranstaltungen ist kostenfrei. Fachbesuchende können zusätzlich die ORGATEC, internationale Leitmesse für Workspace und Contract Solutions, in den Kölner Messehallen (27. bis 30. Oktober 2026) besuchen. Für den Zugang ist ein gültiges Ticket der ORGATEC erforderlich.

Design Post will be an official element of ORGATEC and idd cologne in 2026
Koelnmesse and Design Post Köln are further expanding their partnership for the interiors week
For the first time, Design Post Köln is assuming a dual role in 2026 and is being incorporated into both ORGATEC and idd cologne. As an additional exhibition location, it complements the offering of ORGATEC, while providing the heart of the urban-only concept for idd cologne, which is taking place parallel. The heritage-protected design location thus links modern work worlds, contract solutions and residential interior design at one place and creates a common meeting point for trade and private visitors. ORGATEC takes place from 27 to 30 October 2026; idd cologne from 27 to 31 October 2026.Following the successful integration of Design Post Köln for the premiere of idd cologne 2025, the cooperation will be significantly expanded this year. In the context of ORGATEC and interior design days cologne, international premium brands will present themselves in the Design Post, complemented by exhibitions, events and networking formats.
"Within the interiors week, the Design Post consciously assumes various roles: it expands ORGATEC with additional international brands and new networking possibilities, while it links the various design locations of the city with one another as the central starting point of the urban-only concept of idd cologne. Visitors thus profit from an even more diverse interiors experience with short routes, additional inspiration and new contacts“, according to Maik Fischer, Director of ORGATEC.
Additional exhibition location of ORGATEC
With the Design Post, ORGATEC, as the leading international trade fair for workspace and contract solutions, acquires another exhibition location in the direct vicinity of the fair grounds. The trade fair experience in this way expands beyond the halls and makes an additional encounter space for design, dialogue and new impulses accessible for trade visitors.
Central location of the urban-only concept of idd cologne
Design Post is at the heart of idd cologne in 2026. From here, private and trade visitors explore the urban industry event revolving around exclusive residential interior design. Together with machwerkhaus köln, Design Season Cologne as well as independent showrooms and stores in the Cologne city area, it characterises the decentralised interior design experience in the city. The now more comprehensive incorporation picks up on the successful cooperation in 2025 and reinforces the role of Design Post within the overall concept.
International brand diversity at one place
In the Design Post, leading international interior design brands for living, work and contract solutions will present themselves during the interiors week, including Arco, Arper, DEDON, ECHTSTAHL, Ferm Living, Gärsnäs, GLOSTER, HOWE, Lodes, mdf italia, Misura Rugs, Mizetto, mobitec, Prostoria, RIVA, Secto Design und Tubes in the context of idd cologne. Also in the context of ORGATEC, renowned brands including Flokk, Hund Office, Klöber, Schneeweiss Interior and Wagner Living will present themselves in Design Post. Shown will be new products, current interiors trends and premium design solutions. The diverse offering is complemented by various event and networking formats that provide inspiration and promote a personal exchange within the international interior design community.
Koelnmesse will take over Design Post on 1 January 2027
The integration of the Design Post into ORGATEC and idd cologne marks the next milestone in the cooperation between Koelnmesse and Design Post Köln, which has been in place since July 2025. On 1 January 2027, Koelnmesse will take over operation of the Design Post and permanently integrate the heritage-protected location into its trade fair and event architecture. The Koelncongress subsidiary will in future be responsible for marketing and operation. In the context of this year's interiors week, the partnership is already showing how the Design Post can enrich the offering of two international interior design events in different ways.
A visit to the Design Post in the context of the two events is free. Trade visitors can also visit ORGATEC, the leading international trade fair for workspace and contract solutions, in the Cologne exhibition halls (27 to 30 October 2026). A valid ORGATEC ticket is required for access.
