Numerous events and exhibitions invite visitors to experience new trends, creative concepts, and exciting brands up close—both directly at the locations of the participating exhibitors and in the showrooms in the city center.

Objects that endure not only through their robustness, but also thanks to their aesthetic transcendence. The talk will be held in English.

Our resource-intensive, linear economy demands a shift in values toward greater respect for nature and ecosystems. Climate change and pandemics highlight the need to bring beauty and humanistic values back to the forefront in architecture.

Founded by art consultant Anna Rojahn, Bonnyvue uses generative AI to create images that reflect colors, textures, and moods of a space — turning interiors into personalized, story-driven art. In this lecture, Anna explains the AI techniques behind diffusion, pattern recognition, and prompts, showing how abstract noise becomes images perfectly tailored to interiors. At Design Post, Bonnyvue presents works inspired by the exhibited furniture, demonstrating an innovative approach to integrating art and design.

It encourages exploring new combinations, narratives, and applications. Created by Nina Ruthe (Studio NIRUK), who has been experimenting with materials since 2011, developing products with unique light reflections and textures. She also offers material workshops and designs CMF concepts focused on sensory emotions.

5:15 p.m. - 18:10 p.m. Design Post Deutz-Mülheimer Str. 22A, 50679 Köln	DESIGN IDENTITY Talk \| Mark Vomberg (Designdirektive) “Tomorrow’s Materials Are Yesterday’s Materials” In this lecture, Mark Vomberg, Managing Director of designdirektive, shows how circular economy works in the construction and furniture industries in practice – not theoretically, but with real implementation power. Based on real deconstruction projects, he explains how materials from existing buildings can be systematically documented, marketed, and incorporated into new design concepts. The focus is on the question of how architects, engineers, and deconstruction experts can jointly bridge the gap between planning and practice. The lecture makes it clear: Circular economy does not start in the lab, but on the construction site – and it only works if design and deconstruction collaborate on equal terms, resources are considered early, and economic realities are taken into account. The goal is an honest, practice-oriented view of the future of construction: Tomorrow’s materials are yesterday’s materials – if we are bold enough to rethink together.

Aluminum Exhibition Opening

Examples of aluminum furniture from the 1950s include an aluminum chair by Charles and Ray Eames (Vitra) and a side table by Isamu Noguchi. In the area of contemporary design, designs by Jangir Maddadi (Cappellini), Muller van Severen (Valerie Objects), Marten van Severen, and Guilherme Torres (ClassiCon) will be presented.
